Oh Europa is a collection of works that stem from Action Hero<\/a>\u00a0‘s epic travels across Europe in a campervan, asking strangers to sing a love song.<\/p>\n

Travelling over 50,000 km through 33 European countries, Action Hero recorded the voices of over 1000 ordinary people inside their van, which doubles as a recording studio.\u00a0Oh Europa is a true labour of love: a project that spans a continent and seeks to re-imagine the ways in which we think about Europe, and how we continue to share this space together.<\/p>\n

As part of the Lab<\/a>\u00a0and in partnership with\u00a0Le 140<\/a>, Action Hero was able to collect the love songs of the people of Brussels on the 23rd September 2022 at Parc Fontainas, on the 24th September 2022, in the rain, at the Vismet, on the 25th September 2022 in front of the church at Place Sainte-Catherine, and on the 27th and 28th September 2022 at Parc Josaphat in Schaerbeek.<\/p>\n

On the evening of\u00a0Art+People 2022<\/a><\/em>, Gemma and James invited the audience to join them in an act of collective listening by playing all the love songs they had recorded to date. Broadcast live and online via RadiOh Europa, their own radio station, this resulted in an epic “deep listening experience” from the heart of Europe.<\/p>\n

In co-presentation, RadiOh Europa was also performed at Le 140<\/a>, on the 2nd October 2022 at 3pm.<\/p>\n
